Damüls Ski Tour-Damüls, Austria 1-2022

A chilly January morning Franz woke up in anticipation of a beautiful ski touring day with the Bregenz Alpenverein and caught the early train to meet up with the group at the assigned meeting point to car pool up to Damüls in the Bregenzerwald. The turnout was pretty good so they were divided into two groups. Their group was friendly and animated as they began their ascent up to the Portlahorn at 2010m then after a short downhill continued higher up to the Sünser Spitze at 2134m. There they were rewarded for their efforts with an incredible view of our trail below and the surrounding peaks.  As they removed their skins several participants had a combination touring/snowboarding skis that were cleverly made. The two separate touring ski’s fit together to form one snowboard to descend down the snowy slopes. Both skiers and snowboarders alike had a great day in the mountains of our lovely state of Vorarlberg.
