The blustery winds swept over the drifts of snow as the determined ski touring group steadily made their way up the slopes to the Bullerschkopf peak that rises 650 vertical meters above the Schetteregg ski area in the nearby Bregenzerwald. Franz and his “sports buddy” Florian had joined the local “Bregenz Alpenverein” that organizes ski tours in the Vorarlberg mountains lead by an experienced local guide. Our path lead up the slopes through bends and trees until we reached the Isewartalpe. There we veered off to the right, then left straight up the steep northern face filled with hairpin turns until we reached the ridge just below the summit of the Bullerschkopf. And what a view we had from the top. Another memorable day.
