Spring Skiing on the Tschengla-Bürserberg, Austria 4-2021

A fantastic sunny cross country day on the Tschengla. The Tschengla is situated on a high plateau above Bürserberg at 1250m with amazing views of the Brandnertal valley below. The high plain even overlooks a Neolithic stone circle that looks like a mini Stonehenge whose meaning today is unknown. It is speculated that the stones may have healing qualities, were used for religious purposes, or could have been an observatory. The cross country trails wind through wooded and open areas trails and one downhill route takes a path through and around the famed stones.
